This is particularly true of the economic, technological, scientific and cultural development of the destination, which must be developed in the long term. Indeed, the expansion of the business events sector is one of the priorities of the Luxembourg government. With this in mind, the General Directorate for Tourism has developed a new strategy, "Business Events 2030", aimed at creating and maintaining a favourable framework for the long-term development of the sector. Designed in close consultation with representatives of the business events sector in Luxembourg and internationally, this strategy makes it possible to identify new opportunities and thus help the players to direct their choices in terms of investment, organisation and adaptation of their services.

Four priority development areas have been identified to establish the new strategic policy for business events in Luxembourg. The key points "Organise, Federate, Develop and Measure" include several concrete actions, such as: the creation of an opportunities map for the business events sector, which will make it possible to identify the assets and characteristics specific to each region of the country; the implementation of a programme dedicated to mobilising all the active forces - academic, associative, economic, political and social - capable of generating events or meetings; supporting initiatives dedicated to innovation and technology for the future of business events; and creating a business events observatory to evaluate, among other things, the dynamics of direct, indirect and induced economic spin-offs, the rate of event generation and conversion, and the satisfaction of organisers and stakeholders.

The Minister for Tourism, Lex Delles, stated that "the Business Events 2030 strategy is an important lever for establishing Luxembourg as one of the top 50 destinations in the world for the organisation of international congresses. This strategy aims in particular to guide and support the range of players in the sector, both at national and local level, while integrating a constructive exchange with the public. With this approach, the General Directorate for Tourism is creating optimal conditions for the sustainable development of the Business Events sector. Finally, I would like to thank all the national and international stakeholders who have participated in the development of the new Business Events 2030 strategy.
